Najma has been with ReFOCUS for THE PAST FOUR months. SHE’S interested in photography and also English and math. Her favourite type of photography is street photography because when you take photos of people on the street, they are themselves – they might be angry, happy, or sad. SHE ALSO enjoys wedding photography because the people are happy and they are smiling all the time. Najma would like to continue photography, and hopes that she will have a camera and some different lenses in the future.

WHEN ASKED TO describE photography in one sentence NAJMA SAID, “It is capturing the moments of life.”

IN her FIRST SEASON WITH REFOCUS, NAJMA ALSO SPENT A LOT OF TIME AND ENERGY ON EXPLORING FILMMAKING.

In NAJMA’S first film project teaching artists Magda Zambrycka and pawel rozek DEVELOPED A FILM ABOUT WHAT IT MEANS TO HAVE SUPER POWERS. MAGDA AND PAWEL, BOTH FROM POLAND, WHERE THE NOVEL AND NETFLIX SERIES “THE witcher” is a cult classic, HELPED OUR STUDENTS CREATE THEIR FIRST SHORT FILMS ABOUT “If I was a superhero how would I use my powers?”

NAJMA ALSO workED WITH PEERS ON SHORT documentarIES PROFILING PARTNER ORGANIZTIONS ON LESVOS, AND DEVELOPED A SHORT NARRATIVE FILM “THIS MAGIC MOMENT” WITH HER FILM PARTNER SOMAYA QANBARI. on subsequent projects NAJMA and her fellow filmmakers worked on creating social media videos for a client-partner @MAKERSPACE_LESVOS
